Save the planet

With so much to say about climate change and how it is affecting our planet, it can be difficult to understand how one person can have a real impact. However, incorporating ecological habits into your daily life is much easier than you think. Although these actions may seem minor, the truth is that they can make a difference. With this we can teach our children to take care of the planet from a young age so that they have a more peaceful and joyful life.

To take a step in the right direction, we’ve put together a list of 20 simple actions anyone can do to help our planet. By taking matters into our own hands, we can collectively do our part to protect the environment for future generations. Read on for these easy ways to help the environment and start making an impact today.

-Reduce time in the shower: While showering undoubtedly saves more water than taking a bath in a tub, you can make an even bigger difference. Rather than calmly scrubbing yourself, be more aware of how much time you spend in the shower. Reducing 2 minutes of your shower can save more than 45 liters of water. In addition, you will also be saving the energy necessary to heat the water. Another good technique is to simply turn off the shower while you shave or lather, since every second counts.

-Turn off your computer at night: How many of us just shut down our laptop or turn off our desk screen every night? Turning off your computer at night can help you save energy. If you’re concerned that turning off your computer might affect its performance, put it into hibernate mode. Also check your plugs and unplug appliances like hair dryers and televisions, as these consume power even when they’re not turned on.

Turn off the faucet when you brush your teeth: Taking a moment to turn off the faucet when you brush your teeth can have an impact. In fact, you can save up to 23 liters of water a day. This would translate to 1.5 billion gallons of water in the United States if they took this action.

Use a reusable water bottle: The demand for bottled water is on the rise, but did you know that 90% of those plastic bottles are not recycled? If you live in a country where tap water is drinkable, there is no reason not to invest in a reusable water bottle. Whether you fill it with water from the tap or from a water cooler, you’ll be making a change by simply reducing the amount of plastic thrown away on a daily basis.
